Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated several development projects worth Rs.241 crore in Mansa, Gujarat, alongside Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. In his address, Shah highlighted Narendra Modi’s achievements in water management during his tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister. Modi improved groundwater accessibility across
Gujarat, including Kutch and Saurashtra regions, through the completion of the Narmada Project. Under his leadership, significant infrastructure developments were implemented, including the construction of 14 dams along the Sabarmati River, implementation of Sujalam-Sufalam Yojana connecting Kadana to Deesa, water transfer to nearly 9,000 ponds, and providing fluoride-free drinking water to North Gujarat.
The newly inaugurated projects include the Mansa Circuit House, protection wall near Neelkanth Mahadev, a check dam in Badarpura Village, and development of the Maha Kali Mata temple area in Ambod. The temple development includes plans for recreational facilities such as boating and walking areas, aiming to transform it into a serene religious destination. Shah also laid foundation stones for 23 additional projects, including a barrage on the Sabarmati River that will benefit local farmers. These initiatives continue the region’s focus on water infrastructure development and religious tourism enhancement.
