Multiple agencies to be hired for clearing leachate from landfill

Three days after the National Green Tribunal (NGT) directed MCG to submit an action-taken report on the leachate management by February 10, the civic body on Monday decided to empanel multiple agencies for clearing it from Badhwari landfill. As many as 1,271 water sources, including rivulets and streams, have been identified in Wayanad district under two digital mapping campaigns to rejuvenate waterbodies in the district, especially the Kabani river, a major tributary of the Cauvery.
