This category focuses strictly on RO system design, not smart platforms or overall purification categories.
Eligibility:
- Domestic RO systems only
- Must demonstrate improved water recovery compared to conventional RO
- Commercial or institutional RO systems not eligible
I-(1B) Excellence in Sustainable Domestic RO Innovation
Description: Honours domestic RO systems demonstrating meaningful sustainability innovation through design, materials, cartridge life extension, or waste reduction.
This category evaluates how the system reduces environmental impact, not digital features.
Eligibility:
- Domestic RO systems only
- Must show at least one verifiable sustainability improvement
(water saving, material reduction, long-life filters, recyclable components, etc.)
I-(1C) Excellence in Non-RO Drinking Water Purifiers
Description: Recognises non-RO drinking water purifiers designed to deliver safe potable water with minimal or zero water wastage.
Includes UV, UF, gravity-based, electrochemical, mineral and hybrid non-RO purification technologies.
Eligibility:
- Must not use RO membrane technology
- Designed specifically for drinking water purification
- Domestic-use systems only

This category judges systems performance, not process design.
