The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) recently approved several significant projects aimed at river conservation and sanitation management. During the 59th Executive Committee Meeting, chaired by Director-General Shri Rajeev Kumar Mittal, projects worth `272 crore were sanctioned for Chandauli and Manikpur in Uttar Pradesh, along with a 257 crore initiative for Buxar, Bihar. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) and the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to monitor the progress of implementation of the action plan in accordance with the Namami Gange project.
