The Union Budget 2025 reinforces the government’s commitment to providing access to clean water through the continued focus on the Jal Jeevan Mission. Over the years, this initiative has impacted the lives of 15 crore households by providing easy availability of fresh water. The extension of the mission until 2028, along with the substantial ₹67,000 crore allocation, is a significant boost for strengthening water infrastructure, particularly in rural areas. This allocation will give a big push towards enhancing sustainable water management and it is crucial for India’s long term water security.
